You may work alone, or with a partner, on one gate at a time. When you have completed a gate assignment, bring it to your teacher to be checked (or submit it to JupiterEd, depending upon the assignment). If the work is satisfactory, and there are no clarifications or additions needed, you may work on the next gate. When you reach a gate that is a Formative Quiz, if you have enough time remaining in the Self-Paced session, you may ask your teacher to turn on the quiz. All quizzes are to be completed individually, without the use of notes. Students must be present in class to take quizzes; they may not be completed at home. If you score 70% or better on the quiz, you may then begin work on the next set of gates that follow that quiz. If you score below 70%, check in with your teacher to review. You may also be able to access some review resources before retaking the quiz. Once you score 70% or better, you continue on through the Self-Paced Core of Knowledge gates.

JUDICIAL EXCURSIONS following Gate 12
When you have successfully completed Gate 12, you may take the electronic part of the Unit Test (which is Part 1). You must be present in class to take the test, and there must be sufficient time remaining to be able to complete the test. There will be posted percentages that indicate a 4, 3, 2 or 1 on the electronic part of the test. If you score a 3 or 4, you may advance to the written unit test (when you next have time in class to complete it). If you score at a 1 or 2 level, check in with your teacher for review and restudy before retaking the electronic test (possibly during the next Self-Paced class period). The same process repeats with the Written Unit Test.
